Her performances in the theatre are also well-known, including her role in the role of Emmie Thbodeaux in The Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) which won her an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actress in a Musical. She was also nominated to win her nomination for Tony Award Best Featured actor in the play Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
